Characteristic
There are several important aspects of a Pinion Shaft, such as the snap rings, bushings, and construction. Snap rings, for
example, are responsible for spreading differential loads over a larger area. Bushings, on the other hand, are responsible for spreading loads over a smaller area. Ultimately, the construction of a Pinion Shaft is what will determine the strength of the Pinion Shaft.
Snap rings 37, 38
To remove the pinion gears, unscrew the retaining bolt from the countershaft (69). Slide the sliding gear away from the
synchronizer (16) and remove the input shaft assembly (17). Do not forget to take off the retainer (20). Pull out the rear bearing (25) and thrust washer (24) together. Lift the reverse idler gear (20) and pinion shaft assembly (17) away from each other. Remove the split ring (10) and the bushing (15) from the inside of the input shaft.
Next, install the input gear assembly in the front housing. Make sure the shift rod is inserted in the hole nearest to the input shaft retaining washer. Install the snap ring, spacer, and pinion shaft front bearing cup into the bore of the front housing.Install the support housing until it is 40 mm above the center housing. Then, lower the front housing until the first/reverse shift rod enters the hole.
Bushings 41, 42
There are two bushings in the pinion shaft of a tractor. Bushings 41 and 42 are placed on either side of the shaft. They are
designed to support the shaft and allow the axles to rotate freely. The bushings are made of plastic and should last for several thousand hours. Generally, they have a diameter of 1.175 inches. Bushings 41 and 42 are sized 0.5 inches larger than the axle's diameter.
They are usually marked with the following terms: AR, ASM, DEG degrees, FH flat head, GA gauge, and HF hex flange. They should be fitted according to their respective specifications. When replacing bushings, always use new clips to secure them. Besides, it's important to check the wiring of the pinion shaft and replace the old ones if it is damaged.

Construction
The pinion shaft of a tractor is a part of the steering system, which rotates with the front fork of the tractor. This shaft is
supported by the upper, upwardly arched arm eight. It carries the steering pinion and the gear. When the tractor is in reverse motion, the steering wheel must be rotated from the same direction as the tractor to reverse the movement. The tractor's wheels turn in the opposite direction of its movement when the steering wheel is turned to the right or left.
The rear axle of the tractor is supported in two bearings, one at each end. These bearings are secured to the tractor's frame,while the other one supports the downhill wheel. Pins pass through the tubes and into the axle supports. The rear axle of the tractor is then completed in full lines, with the minimum tread of the rear wheels. The tractor can be driven manually or by a mechanical power system.
Applications
The ISO 500 series of pinion shafts have expanded from five to twenty splines, making them ideal for tractors with high power needs. The pinion gear 16 of the final drive 10 has two ends, the first end 58 and opposed second end 60. The first end 58 supports the external spline 62, which mates with the internal spline 64 in the right intermediate shaft 54. The pinion gear also has teeth 30.
The pinion gear 16 is a gear with toothed teeth on both ends. In this configuration, the pinion gear 16 engages with the idler gear on the rear axle. The pinion gear 16 also features teeth on its second end. These teeth limit the rotational speed of the rear axle and the tractor. In contrast, the large tooth diameters of a pinion gear enable the cab to be placed in the back of the tractor.
